When You Have Got a Soft Heart

Once upon a time, there was a person – yes, that is me – who was looking for a product which could solve one of her many problems.

Once upon a time, there was a person – yes, that is me – who was looking for a product which could solve one of her many problems. She searched high and low and then, at last, she found where to turn to. She went there, she was kindly treated, she tested the product and, seeing it is very good quality and perfectly suitable for her needs, she bought it even if it was very expensive. While she was going away, she told the owner of *** that she would write a review for her blog.

After some time, she wrote her review. It was an enthusiastic well-written review with many praises of the product as well of those who make it. She was so happy with that product that she even thought of an interview with the owner to post on her blog. So she wrote an email to *** sending both the review and the questions for the interview, explaining the who, the where, the what and the why.

What I was told by a formally kind email stopped me dead cold. They wrote that at *** they were not interested in “investing in this type of advertising”. Advertising. This is exactly what they wrote as if I were any guy from an advertising studio asking for money to sponsor their product… By now I should know people are like that, one cannot trust their smiles may last for long or stay for the same reasons as yours. So, rather than posting a nice piece of a personal review that could have made me sit on a cloud of soft gratitude, I got a nice kick where it hurts more. No, not my back, which is still hurting by itself and is not touched by this event. It was my trusting, naive heart that was kicked. My poor heart, which only wanted to share something nice that makes a difference in my daily life so that my readers could be as happy as I am with this product. They said no and no will be. Instead, this is the post I wrote.

This unpleasant story might have been totally useless but it taught me an invaluable lesson, which is: I am really happy with is to have a trusting, naive heart which will be kicked on and on and on by people whose hearts are not like mine and I am proud to be like that. I am naive and trusting and proud and nothing, not even continuous kicks, will make me change. Of course, I will go on using the *** product because it is a very good product but my lips will be sealed about what the product is, who makes it and where they are.

Having a soft, sensitive heart is not easy. If you have one, treasure it as the most valuable thing you possess and take great care of it: if it breaks, you might not be able to mend it.
