Originality

Originality is not always about something new: in most cases, it is about a new way to look at things.

Although some patterns created at RSD may be inscribed in general categories, each of them becomes brand-new thanks to the artist’s personal vision, which is uniquely hers.
There will never be two patterns of the same genre that are exactly the same because we, as human beings, are never the same.

Different styles

When it come to style, more is better, with no doubt.

Many are the influences that characterize the artist’s style and many are reflected in RSD patterns. As a matter of fact, more styles mean more opportunities to find what suits better a project, whether it is for a private or a company.
In love with just one style? No, problem, at RSD there is room for every taste.

Accuracy with a human hand twist

Being accurate does not equal to being perfect.

What is perfection? Is it a matter of lines? Is it a matter of shape? Or is it a matter of a design thoroughly studied in every detail – from rhythm to colours, from blank spaces to repetitions?
At RhSD the attempt is to offer a living product, tiny bumps and minute irregularities included – more so if it is a hand-made product such as an original painting. And, of course, every product is made by a real human being with a human hand.

Positivity

Can a design be uplifting? At RSD the answer is: yes, it can.

When it comes to resilience, we all need a little help from our friends. RSD patterns and images are planned and realized keeping in mind that they must be joyful, helpful and inspirit.
Colours are joyful with their shiny look. Lines are helpful with their soft, restrained flow. Shapes are inspiring with their traditional or innovative symbolic meanings. Every design tells a story of courage, support, openness and love, the exact traits the artist relies on every day of her difficult life.
Every aspect of a design is chosen and put together to please the eye so as to please the heart.

Universal inclusivity

Who said that men cannot wear pink flowers? Who said that foulard motifs are not becoming for a woman?

Mental habits are sometimes a prison for taste. We are so accustomed to the non-written rules of fashion that some motifs choices or colour combinations look absurd to our eyes. Yet there is no real reason why men cannot wear pink shades or choose flowery wallpaper for their bedroom and women cannot find foulard-like patterns attractive or wear ties rather than scarves.
What is customary today will be outdated tomorrow: we can all agree on that, cannot we?

Custom satisfaction

One cannot always please everybody, that is for sure. Yet communication is a great tool to settle down problems.

When asking for a specific product, whether a tailored pattern, a painting or a text, customers may expect to find a welcoming ear.
Yet we are only human and from time to time some misunderstanding may happen, due to the language used or the specific moment. In that case, let us exchange email and try to iron out all issues. There is all the time in the world...

Charity support

Money and words for a right cause.

The artist supports CFU-Italia OdV in its commitment to the recognition of FM, EHS, MCS and CFS as disabling diseases in Italy both with payment of the annual membership card and the devolution of the entire proceeds of the book "Sono ancora qui (I’m still here)" written specifically for them.
At present, there is no English version of this book. Maybe one day, who can tell?

Hand made surface patterns

RhosaSpinaDesign offers patterns in different styles that can be handcrafted using watercolour, gouache, ink and/or pencils, and are then transferred to PC.

PC-made surface patterns

There is a choice of PC-made patterns that are visible in the Portfolio area (members only), each of which was carefully studied for a specific use.

Surface patterns on demand

Private clients and business enterprises are welcome to ask for patterns of any style and technique. Please use the contact form.

Unique pieces on paper and file

Patterns, colours and shapes are not the only daily bread at RhosaSpinaDesign. In fact, they are substantially accompanied by words – for books, articles, posts and storytelling.
